OUR PROJECT EXPERIENCE
CHUBBY CHICK MAIN FACTORY
1454,5kWp - 2 025 979kWh
Chubby Chick decided to install a solar PV system in order to reduce their almost 2,5MVA of demand and associated energy bill. One of the many challenges in this installation is the various injection points and thus distributed nature of the PV system. This was addressed by installing a wireless mesh network across the site, collecting all the data to one central point, before uploading to Sunny Portal. This communications network also allows for feed-in control and integration with their diesel generator system. In total 26 x SMA CORE-1 and 4 x SMA STP25 inverters are installed across the site and connected to 4 480 Jinko modules. This installation includes a full lightning protection system and weather station. All working in perfect harmony to provide clean power to the facility.

SENWES HEAD OFFICE
753,5kWp - 828 828kWh
After significantly reducing their load through various energy efficiency initiatives, Senwes decided to install a solar PV system to further reduce their energy cost and carbon footprint. This system uses 2 392 Trina modules connected to 30 x SMA STP25 inverters to provide 100% of their power during the peak sun hours. In addition the weather station and Sunny Portal provide online monitoring capabilities. Using an advanced control system the PV has also been integrated with the standby generator system. Making this office facility green, smart and ready for the future.
SENWES HENNENMAN SILO
358,4kWp - 472 371kWh
As part of their long term strategy to manage energy cost and reduce their carbon footprint, Senwes Grainlink has decided to pioneer the installation of a solar PV system at their Hennenman grain silo. This installation is the first solar PV installation in the Southern Hemisphere. Due to the expanded nature of the site a wireless communication network is installed to allow for feed-in control and integration with the diesel generator. Using 1 120 Jinko modules connected to 14 x SMA STP25 inverters, this PV system provides up to 100% of the power to the facility during peak sun hours.
